The great thing about Mommy working at a religious school and Tony going to a religious daycare? No school for either on Good Friday! Initially, I planned to tackle everything house-related -- mopping floors, laundry, dusting, dishes, organizing -- always overly-ambitious goals, but I figured if I got just two loads of laundry done that would be fantastic. When Tony woke up I asked him what he wanted to do. Without hesitation he said, "Go to the BIG zoo!" Oh, twist my arm. So, off we went to the Minnesota Zoo! Tony LOVED it. He takes after me that way. He wanted to touch every animal in the joint. He tried to touch the sharks. When the sharks wouldn't get close enough, we had to go back a few times to try some more.
Luckily for us, it is Farm Babies time. We rode the tractor to "Old McDonald's Farm," as Tony appropriately named it, and went wild. You know what that meant though -
hours of singing the song.
Hours.
My favorite part of the day - when Tony saw the mommy and baby bear statues. He walked up to the baby, looked at me and said, "That's Tony." Then, he turned to "Tony" and said, "Can I hold your hand?" And there he stood, holding the baby bear statue's hand. He tried to hold the mommy bear's and Tony bear's hands at the same time, but his arms wouldn't stretch. 4.5 hours, 1 ice cream cone, 1 slice of sausage pizza, 2 animal-shaped drinks, and no nap later, we left.
