Tony the Daycare Barista

Every month there is a new "dramatic play" station in the toddler room. It's been a barber shop, grocery store, ice cream parlor, and this month it's a coffee shop. There's a non-functioning Keurig on the table with k-cups, cups, "cream," and "sugar." When I arrived to pick young Tony up the other day Brianna, his teacher, said,"Tony, what did we play today?" Tony immediately said, "Coffee!" He marched over to the "shop" and went through all the proper steps to make me a cup of coffee just the way I like it. Brianna said, "You must drink a lit off coffee." Well, Brianna, how can you tell? Apparently,  Tony showed all his friends how to make coffee in the Keurig before the teachers could. He played the role of barista and wasn't good at sharing the role. I see a first job at Starbucks 14 years from now.
