Today Grandma Mary, Grandpa Dan, Sandra and Ingeborg (who are visiting for a couple weeks from Norway), Tony and I went to the Festival of Nations. Tony was a little shell-shocked by all the people, noises, smells, and music. He really didn't know what to make of it all. First, we went to find something to eat among the 30+ different ethic food booths. I got him some cheese perogis, thinking that's easy, not spicy and not too messy. He took one bite and was not pleased. A man happened to walk by as Tony made a terrible face, saw it, and laughed. I said, "I guess he's not Polish." I went to the Italy booth and got him some cheese bread instead.
Next we walked through the exhibitor booths where I bought a Senegalese clay elephant. Tony got to meet a French Voyageur who introduced him to a black bear who was also about Tony's age only 175lbs. The cub was a little too scary for Tony but he braved touching the fur.
The highlight of Tony's day at the Festival of Nations was watching the belly dancers. They got a rousing round of applause from Little Tony.
