Two posts in one week - I KNOW! Somebody stop me! With all the happenings I can't help myself. Here's the big one - my first Mother's Day! It was, in a word, fantastic! I didn't get just one day, I got a whole, 4-day weekend. Thursday night Anthony came home with two big bouquets of flowers - lilies and tulips. I was SHOCKED. I had no idea. What an incredible surprise. Not to mention the gift certificate to get my nails done. I am
so excited to do that, and it's at a new nail salon I am dying to try. So far, I am loving Mother's Day!

Friday we went drove to the lake. Little Tony went with my parents in the morning, and Anthony and I left in the afternoon. You know what that means - I got to sit in the front seat! Though the trip is long, this one was made extra special due to a pitstop in Baxter, MN, which is a "blink and you miss it" town; however, they have a Von Hanson's Meats. It was love at first sight for Anthony. Garlic beef jerky, pork jerky, and smoked salmon all made the trip up north with us, too. Good thing there were no other passengers with all those smells.
The weekend was beautiful. We took it easy on Saturday. That is until about midnight. I had gone to bed and Anthony was up with the kiddo. I was awakened to terrible crying, which is very uncommon. Before I knew it I was holding Tony and Anthony was out the door to Walmart. good thing Park Rapids has a 24-hour store. Items to purchase: bulb syringe and Vicks Vaporub. Poor kid couldn't breathe. Baby's first cold. Thank you, daycare. Tony has mostly recovered now, but is still pretty stuffy and has a baby cough.

| Sunrise at the cabin. Yes, we were awake to see it at 5am. |
We also tried out the carrier for the first time! Tony is getting really good at holding his head up on his own now, so we can finally do it. And, he's a fairly "solid" kid, so the carrier seems like a great option now. He seemed to enjoy it!

Sunday. The big day. I got to open a gift from Tony that he picked out himself, according to Dad. I loved it! He made a great choice! I especially liked his card.

We went to The West Forty in Park Rapids for brunch. We had to wait a bit, but not bad. The waitress was...well...if you can't say anything nice... We had a nice brunch though, even though Grandma Mary's food got flipped upside down on the table. We got back to the cabin and took some pictures before driving back to the Cities.
